Meet Fred Beer

Fred is a Partner at ITX Corp. ITX is a strategic technology firm that combines business and IT expertise to design, develop, deploy and maintain technology solutions. Fred is the President of Multiply IT, ITX’s product development group. Multiply IT manages a portfolio of internally-built software products and works with technology startups as a product development partner. His consulting and speaking programs employ Fred's experience and passion in innovation, marketing and growth strategies, technology, and culture development.

Fred is a certified facilitator through the Creative Problem Solving Institute and has lead strategic sessions for companies such as Wegmans Food Markets, Bausch and Lomb, Frontier and Russell Investment Group. He has a deep knowledge of product development and marketing and the unique ability to match these two skills to provide a product that can be effectively marketed and sold.

In addition, Fred has a long and successful history as a ground-breaking business leader. In 1995 Fred co-founded Auragen Communications Inc. and was CEO of the organization until August 2006 when he stepped back from day to day operations to focus on other business ventures. Auragen was a full-service interactive marketing organization which in November 2007 merged with Catalyst Direct.

Under Fred’s leadership the company experienced 100% organic growth each year from 1995 to 2001. Even then Fred met the challenges of building employee loyalty and company success. During those years, Auragen enjoyed extremely low turn-over and recruiting costs – a quarter or less of the norm for comparable companies.

By 2001, Auragen had already won numerous awards and had reached #193 on Inc Magazines 500 fastest growing private companies list. That year and in early 2003 Auragen went through a period of economic re-structuring, and Fred developed strategies for new growth. From 2002 until 2004 Auragen remained steady in terms of employment and had low double digit growth in revenue. In late 2005 Auragen expanded dramatically to meet client demand. Fred again was in the lead as the employment base almost doubled in four months, installing ‘A’-level players at little or no recruiting cost.

In 2006 Fred co-founder Potential Point, LLC, where he architected the company’s award winning product which helps companies build high-performance work cultures. Its software and services transform employee recognition into a pervasive leadership tool by aligning behaviors to company goals, and engaging individuals to share, recognize and repeat the best practices that deliver meaningful results.

Fred has guest lectured at the University of Rochester Simon Graduate School of Business and he serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Rochester, New York Area, Inc. In 2006, Fred was accepted to attend the EO/MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program, an executive education program involving sixty entrepreneurs from around the world. From July 2007 to June 2008, Fred served as President of the local board of the local chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization.

He lives in Perinton, NY with his wife Cathy, their daughter Caroline and their son Connor.
